The 40 over 40 project is a celebration of diversity, strength, beauty and wisdom in women over the age of 40. I am looking to share the stories of 40 amazing women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and up for a one of a kind empowering experience in a celebration of life. It’s time for you to practice self-love and this project is a perfect place to start. Let’s celebrate the beauty of aging and embrace who you are and the way the world sees you.
40 Over 40 Campaign
Without the women over 40 in my life, I wouldn’t amount to much. They have motivated me and showed me strength in times when I didn’t know it was possible to be strong. Not as many women are as fortunate as I am to have these inspirational women be a part of their lives. Too many women sacrifice so much of themselves for other people throughout their lives. We focus on our careers, our families and building a future, we forget to pause and appreciate the things we have already accomplished. I want your message to empower other women who need to hear it. I always say, if I could tell my younger self anything, it would be to always put myself first. Without self love, the world is a difficult place. I want to learn about what motivates you and about your journey to becoming who you are today and use that drive to inspire others. It’s time to celebrate you, just as you are. Empowered and beautiful, because you deserve it.

As fun as it has been taking photographs of families and babies over the last 8 years, I feel like the universe is pulling me in a different direction this year. While I have always focused on making women feel beautiful in family or maternity portraits, now it’s time to make women the star of the show.
Over the last 18 months I have been practicing self-love in a way that I never have before. I put myself and my needs first because I truly believe you can’t pour from an empty glass. That doesn’t make me selfish, in fact, I do it because I love my family so much and I want them to thrive too! I am my best self when I take care of myself and I long for my daughter and my son to know that it’s okay to love yourself and focus on your happiness. I want to return that same energy to other women by telling the stories of the strong, wise and empowered. My desire is to allow women to feel good about themselves and who they are because there is only one you.

The 40 over 40 project is for women who are ready to feel beautiful and empowered and to lead the way for others to feel the same. These portraits make excellent headshots, website or social media images as well as feel good personal glamor shots. VOICES OF MUSLIM WOMEN VANCOUVER
Voices of Muslim Women (VMW) is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that educates and mentors girls and women professionals to be confident, connected and informed leaders. We host a professional development conference and an array of holistic development and life coaching courses. We give back through our Scholarship fund, Awards gala and Mentorship program. We are led and run by women in Vancouver who self-identify as female belonging to Muslim cultures; however, our programs and events are open to girls, non binary folks, and women from all cultures.
